Islington and Camden amongst worst areas for moped crimes

RECENT research has revealed the most dangerous constituencies of London for moped crimes.

A Freedom of Information (FOI) has outlined that the quantity of offences committed by criminals on mopeds has increased by 30 times since 2012.

Additionally exposed that the worst boroughs in London are Camden and Islington, where more than 40 percent of moped crimes are happening in these areas.

More than 23,000 offences by criminals using mopeds took place last year, up from 827 in 2012.

Caroline Haines leads the police operation to tackle moped crime in Camden and Islington, she stated:

“Since January we’ve deployed a number of new tactics that are now starting to see dividends. But we’re not done yet, and we’re not complacent. We do understand there’s a lot more work to do.”
