IADD held a reception for 23 April

ATATÜRK Society UK (IADD) held a reception in Azerbaijan House on Sunday, April 22, for the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day. Many participant attended the reception and 23 April was celebrated with great enthusiasm.

The IADD Secretary made the opening the speech and stated “Our unity together is our assurance and I wish us all too always be in solidarity”. Eliz Yumer, a member of the IADD gave a speech outlining the importance and meaning of 23 April. Hümeyra, the youngest member of the IADD Youth Branches, gained great appreciation by reading Atatürk’s address towards youth, which he memorized with great enthusiasm. Later, Çiğdem Yılmaz experienced emotional moments while reading to Fadik Yilmaz’s mother’s poem “Welcome April 23”

The president of the British Atatürk’s Thought Association, Jale Özer, who spoke after the program offered by the young people, said:

“How hurtful it is that we are fighting today to get back the Assembly, which was founded by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. For this reason, the elections of June 24, 2018 are a fight to take back our Assembly and we will win this fight.”

The CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Canan Kaftancıoğlu also attended the event.
