TCCA and TCFF announced a new Turkish Cypriot festival

Under the leadership of Turkish Cypriot Community Association and Turkish Community Football Federation Turkish a new arts festival committee has been formed. They announced that they will be holding a Turkish Cypriot festival on 10 June 2018.

The festival committee gave a press release at Grand Palace on Tuesday 10 April, whereby they provided information in regards to the festival.

The press release distributed by the Committee includes the following statements:

“The Council (CTCA) has held a very beautiful festival last year and has created awareness on a sensitive issue for us.

Festivals play a very important role in the lives of diaspora societies. At the same time, festivals have important missions, such as ensuring that communities recognise and understand each other. For this festival, which is very important for us, we have tried very hard for all our associations and organisations to be a heart but unfortunately, we have not been successful. Therefore, two festivals will be held this year.

When we are talking about our social interests, we believe that we can push all our differences to one side and work together. I regret to say that not all our organisations think like us.

We have undertaken this honourable duty without closing our doors to institutions and organisations. We continue to work quickly within the framework of democratic, open and respectful principles. We will pass the accounts of the festival within four weeks at the latest from the festival to independent financial advisors and share with you. The profits obtained will also be donated to the foundation, which consists of all our institutions.

At the same time, according to the calculation of the month of Ramadan, fasting citizens will give an iftar meal at the end of the festival.”

The following organisations will participate in the Festival, which will take place on June 10: Turkish Cypriot Community Association, Turkish Community Football Federation, London Turkish Masters, Turkish Cypriot Society, Cypriot Artist’s Platform and Sheikh Nazim Dergah.
