ORGANISED by AMC Productions and the UK Women’s Platform (IKP), the ‘Art’ event took place along with special guest chatty theatre actress Sumru Yavrucuk.
The event was looked at violence against women was held at The Lion&Key a Turkish hotel, the healing power of Shirley show and art was spoken.
“We are all a Shirley, actually,” said Sumru Yavrucuk, “Men need to let go of deciding; how many children we will have, what and how we decide live our lives, women need morals.
It is not too late for anything, please do not devalue your life, and try to accumulate moment.” Going on to say “Since the day I started to work, I have always tried to express women in my shows and I will continue to do so. Even with the films I take part in, I always mention for intervention matter before I agree to take part. I do not agree with the knees I work with, but always put in the matter of intervention. Nobody can tell me anything on the screen as if it was a good thing. That’s where we are role models, every message we say will touch people’s lives. ”
Despite going against her father, she talks about how she ran away from home and attended her first ever conservatory exam, her first show and how excited she was. Talking about her past she says “Stand behind your ideas, stand behind your dreams. Please don’t just accept life just how it is”. She also gave the good news on coming to London to showcase her show Shirley soon.
