THE warning information about ‘foreign exchange military service’ closely related to the military situation of our citizens living outside of Turkey was published by the consulate. Reminder information about the law covering the age of the person and valid until the end of the year was shared on the social media page of the Consulate as follows.
TO THE ATTENTION OF THE CITIZENS
Attention to our citizens who want to take advantage of foreign currency military service. Law No. 6661, which entered into force on 27 January 2016, is the last date for citizens to apply for foreign currency military service, which is the last day to apply by the end of turning 38 years old (December 31). In addition, provisional article 53 of the said law and citizens born before January 1, 1978 were allowed to take advantage of foreign currency military service provided that they apply by the end of 2017 at the latest. Accordingly, our citizens born in 1979 and our citizens who were born before January 1, 1978 and who want to benefit from foreign currency military service by providing necessary conditions should apply personally to the Consulate General by the date of 29 December 2017 at the latest by appointment with the documents indicated on the website www.turkishconsulate.org.uk . Age changes made after the military era is not taken into consideration. It is possible for our citizens who were born in 1979 and before, and who can not find a foreign military appointment in this frame, to be able to make an appointment via the link www.mfa.gov.tr/iletisim.tr.mfa, except those born in 1978, in this frame.
