In a crackdown on crimes related to ULEZ cameras, Met Police have revealed a staggering 795 incidents reported between April 1 and September 30 this year.
This wave of offences included 200 incidents of camera thefts and 595 cases of camera damage.
As part of their efforts, Met Police launched an operation back in May, focusing on ULEZ-related criminal activities. Their efforts yielded results in August when law enforcement unveiled an image of a man they were urgently seeking to locate.
This man was suspected of being involved in four different offences across Hillingdon, Harrow, and Uxbridge on Saturday, June 17.
The ongoing operation reached another significant milestone on Friday, September 22, when a 52-year-old man was apprehended in Bexley on charges of criminal damage.
Anti-ULEZ protesters were found to have daubed vans carrying the cameras with graffiti, therefore stopping transport chiefs identifying and fining vehicles not complying with the ultra low emission zone.
