Will you be a HeForShe?

Are you man? Or are you a woman? Whichever sex you are it honestly doesn’t matter, because at the end of the day you’re a human being. When it comes to females or makes even being treated unequally, I have this type of fuse that takes over my thoughts and they become uncontrollable. How and why can there be mistreatment towards you or me, because of the gender we are? It’s wrong! Not only is it wrong it’s discrimination, the way I see it that it’s just as bad as being racist. I’ll stop my rant there otherwise it’s going to take up my whole column.

Over the weekend, British Harry Potter actress and Women GoodWill ambassador Emma Watson, gave such a speech on women and their place in politics, on feminism that it’s hit over three million views in just three days.

She spoke to hundreds of people as part of the UN solidarity movement #HeforShe campaign, she was confident and full of motivation as she said: “I decided I was a feminist and this seemed uncomplicated to me. But my recent research has shown me that feminism has become an unpopular word. Apparently I am among the ranks of women whose expressions are seen as too strong, too aggressive, isolating, anti-men and, unattractive.” Need she say more? She shows compassion in regards to being a feminist, it doesn’t bother her what people think because either way she is going to stand up for what is right. She is going to fight for equality of both genders, men and women around the world and particularly part of the United Nations. Since then, she’s even received threats from 4chan saying they will release nude pics of her. It hasn’t phased her one bit, that’s showing real power of a woman. She is courageous and definitely an inspiration to all young women around the world.
