Here is Lucy from Myddleton Road Market and Emma from Killick Stores representing everyone from the street at the Awards Ceremony at Lancaster Hotel in London’s West End.
‘This winner is an example of the power of local people and business areas working together to support their area. The community has rallied around their high street by putting on a range of events and working with local partners such as the local school, and have created a really strong online presence through Twitter and local online forums and using their We Love Myddleton Road brand.’

Myddleton Road includes many Cypriot shops, Vrisaki Restaurant,New Salamis, Anemone Travel,Hellenic Gourmet and Bakery, Demetriou and English, Elite Bathrooms and Plumbing, My Dental Care,Greek City, Greekbeat radio, Property Zone, Lucas Brothers Barbers, Andys’s Dry Cleaners, Garden of Saints, The Delicatessen, Nicosia Coffee bar and A Ioannou and Sons.
Haringey Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Social Inclusion and Sustainability Cllr Joe Goldberg said,
“It’s fantastic that Myddleton Road has been voted best London high street today beating off strong competition from across the capital. It’s a lovely place to spend some time with great shops, bars, cafes and a thriving street market.”

We won!!!! So happy to collect the award for Myddleton Road today for the Best London High Street at the Great British High Street Awards! So much competition and inspiring work in the room, we were blown away! Massive congrats to the We Love Myddleton Road group who put together the submission, the shops and businesses, the community members, the BPCA, everyone who voted online, local councilors, Haringey Council and everyone who shops at and loves our great little high street. We can now beam with pride as we declare it to be the Best High Street in London!
