Edmonton County School visits Londra Gazete

Edmonton County School students, who are now in the process of publishing their very own Turkish and English newspaper, visited Londra Gazete to talk to our reporters and editors to get insights on the way to a journalist’s life.

Tackling short briefings on “how to write a proper story”, “what is photojournalism” and “how to write and report bilingually (Turkish and English), the students had the chance of drawing on the experience and the expertise of our reporters, by specifically learning practical information on writing editorials and using internet-based news storage in the Office.

The group’s teacher, Gülden Osman remarked the importance of visiting Londra Gazete and using it as an exemplar of what they are planning to achieve, because of the language(s), reporting and quality of the paper.

“It is vital for us to be here as we have always looked up to Londra Gazete – it being a bilingual newspaper with active presence on social media and rapid journalism makes Londra Gazete as a big influence on our newspaper model”

Approximately 20 students enjoyed the little briefings made by the team, along with taking notes and sharing their experiences and questions with the Londra Gazete team.
