Turkish woman plunged to her death from bridge over busy road in Walthamstow
THE FUNERAL of a Turkish woman who plunged to her death from a Walthamshow footbridge was held in Tottenham on Sunday.
Elif Orman, 30, died after falling down onto the busy North Circular road late in the afternoon of 17 February.
Eyewitness had reported seeing her waving at the passing traffic before she fell, where she was hit by a fast-moving car.
Hundreds of mourners gathered at the Kırkısraklılar Community Centre in Enfield to pay their respects to the Orman family before the burial, which was held at Tottenham Park Cemetery on Montagu Road.
The community centre is home to expatriates from the village of Kırkısrak, near Kayseri in central Turkey.
Community members said Ms Orman’s death was a suicide. She was born in Turkey and had an eleven-year-old son in London.

The statement continued: “London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended. The female was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as severe head injuries.
“Inquiries are ongoing. The incident is being treated as non-suspicious.”
