“All terror groups are in conjunction”

Turkey’s AKP general vice president Mehmet Mehdi Eker, came to London as a part of Turkish government’s assigned MPs to tell and inform the failed coup’s results and the country’s prospective plans.

Meeting with the Turkish speaking communities in London, Mr Eker gave his speech at the Yunus Emre Institute of central London on last Monday for an approximate of 2 hours. Attending to the event as speakers were Konya MP Ziya Altınyaldız, Kayseri MP İsmail Emrah Karayel and Antalya MP Sena Nur Çelik along with London’s Turkish ambassador Abdurrahman Bilgiç attending as an audience member.

Mr Eker, in his speech highlighted the importance of Turkish speaking communities residing in the UK.

“Our people who lives in the UK undoubtedly are a big part of our country’s future along with Turkey’s representation in the UK. Turkish people living in the UK can be an asset for Turkey’s prospective moves

“As Turkish Republic, we had to witness a bloody and cruel coup attempt, which resulted in such saddening pictures with many martyrs. We were in the Parliament along with opposition party MPs whilst the bombs were raining on us from the planes. Had to bombs targeted more specific aims, there could be no one surviving that act”

“Asylum applicants will be monitored”

Mr Eker also reflected upon the growing asylum applications for abroad from Turkey, saying that should FETÖ members try to seek asylum in different counties by saying people who have convicted records in their DBS, the process could be interrupted. Mr Eker said there are operations going on in an international spectrum on that matter.
