Opening the session, the association’s current president Sinem Arıca outlined the minutes along with launching the annual report to go through the reports and inquiries. Amongst the report points, were a wide arrange of events that the centre had organised during the past year, from travels to special events.

“I have good tidings”

Ms. Arica remarked the significance of being a president of such a philanthropic association, not ony commissioned for ensuring the well-being of locals but also for branching out across the borders. Giving examples of the past philanthropic enterprises of the charity, Ms Arica gave examples of their helpings to people in need in Cyprus and Turkey.

Carrying on her speech by coming to her “good tidings”, Ms Arica heralded good news of the charity no longer holds any outstanding mortgages as they all have been paid by the current management.

“When I was asked why did I want to be the president of this association in the first place, securing our building by paying all our mortgages. I proudly now would like to tell you that our mortgage has been fully paid, enabling us to freely feel that our building fully belongs to us”

The meeting came to an end after the annual report’s induction. The crowd then enjoyed the complimentary tea session.
