UETD’s latest event brought the well-known Turkish politician in to London, who works as an MP for Istanbul in AKP for many years.

The event that also celebrated the new academic year, AKP MP Mr Metin Külünk met with the young people in London along with many other faces from the Turkish speaking communities in London. The event, that took place on 15 October 2016, was hosted by the Turkish Religious affairs centre in Hornsey.

The event that started with the Quran prayer by the Aziziye Mosque Imam Isa Karder was followed by the opening speech of Dr Turhan Ozer, the president of UETD UK. Using the metaphor of cancer cells, Dr Özen belaboured the FETÖ terrorist group to cancerous cells that start to devour its prey, in other words, the body itself.

“Thankfully, there is cure for cancer if the body is in care of a good treatment and doctor. Our country (Turkey) may feel sick but it is in good hands with a good administration. We will get through these days”

Attending to the event, was also the Syrian community spokesman Muhammed Nacar who also made a speech on Turkey-Syria relations, by delivering messages of fellowship, together and solidarity to stand against all kinds of terror. Mr Nacar said:

“I proudly feel both Turkish and Syrian, and us Syrians, we pray every night for our brothers in Turkey for them to see brighter days. Together, we will find a way to overcome all kinds of terror and obtain peace”

Talking at the final, Mr Külünk critisized the imperialist forces’ effect on democracies and human rights. Mr Külünk said:

“Imperialism never meets nor appreciates human rights or freedom terminologies. It is all based upon power”

Talking about the Turkish President Mr Erdoğan’s international effect on the Muslim communities, Mr Külünk tackled the Turkish President’s influence as a global effect that spreads the appreciation of Islam and togetherness.

Referring to the 15 July 2016 coup attempt agendas, Mr Külünk also said that the time has come for the responsible to be sent out to the attention of justice, just as the Turkish society expects.
