Alevi authorities set a meeting with Home Office officials

Britain Alevi Federation, Britain Alevi Secretariat and UK Home Office officials got together on the 10th of October Monday. Attending to the event, were the Secretariat President Joan Ryan MP, Enfield Council members Güney Doğan, Nesimi Erbil, Adaline Kepez and Britain Alevi Federation President Israfil Erbil to tackle the lives of Alevi Britons and residents living in the UK.

Joan Ryan, in her speech mentioned the importance of the representation of diversity amongst the members of the community in the UK.

“Alevis are undoubtedly a part of our community that is ultimately contributing to this country and their representation should be maintained with great interest”

Talking after Joan Ryan, Mr Erbil said “As 15 different Alevi centres we carry on delivering services for those who would like to take benefit from our benefits in the UK”

Speaking at the meeting, Hillary Patel said “It is pleasing to see Alevi community united and organised. We are one of the major belief socities in the UK”. As a conclusion note taken in the end of the meeting, the groups settled for a decision of providing a report on Alevis’ inquiries to be sent for the attention of UK Foreign Affairs Ministry.
