Matching 2014’s record-breaking number of nominations, 16 buildings and spaces have now been shortlisted for the Hackney Design Awards 2016, and while the expert judging panel make their final decisions, Hackney residents and visitors can vote for their favourite shortlisted scheme.
The people of Hackney and visitors to the borough are being invited to vote for their favourite building or space from an exciting shortlist, the entry that receives the most votes will be announced as the Hackney Design Awards People’s Choice winner 2016. The People’s Choice voting opens on 19 September for four weeks, closing on 17 October.
Since its launch in 2004, the prestigious Hackney Design Awards helps to celebrate great design and architecture in the Hackney. It is one of the longest continually running awards programme run by any borough in London.
Once again, 50 different design schemes were nominated which have now been shortlisted by an expert judging panel, who selected projects based on their high design quality and contribution to the surrounding area.
