An Evening with Ece Temelkuran on ‘Turkey: The Insane and The Melancholy’

Famous Turkish critic and author Ece Temelkuran is coming to London for her latest book, “Turkey: The Insane and the Melancholy”’s launch. Talking about the book and the book’s influences, Ms Temelkuran also be tackling the current political agenda of Turkey.

Organised by Centre for Turkey Studies (CEFTUS), the event will take place at the British Parliament in the House of Commons on the 12nd of September 2016. Joined also by John Woodcock, who is the Barrow-Furness MP the event will be hosting many distinguished names from both British and Turkish political and cultural sphere.

Temelkuran’s latest book, Turkey: The Insane and the Melancholy tackles Turkey’s current autocratic ambiguity and its historical roots. Defining Turkey’s cultural and political state of being the bridge of the West and East, Temelkuran takes the historical events into account to see the bigger picture and the current dilemma(s) of Turkey.
