The Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief Turkey (IHH), came to London to warn philanthropists for fraudsters and/or the same named organisations who are using IHH’s names to acquire money.
IHH general secretary Yavuz Dede, warned the participants due to an increasing number of fraudsters using IHH’s name. Dede said “There are charities and organisations using our name or using the same name to receive donations” we would like to warn everyone on this matter to avoid any misunderstandings in the future.
Stating the importance of letting the community in the UK about this matter, IHH staff underlined the fact that some charities try to draw a “unity” image to accept donations whilst IHH has no authorisation or acknowledgement over it.
Dede, also said that IHH doesn’t think of opening an overseas or European branch and there couldn’t be an “IHH Europe” branch in any territory at the moment. Drawing attention to the fact that somne organisations’ shortened names may cause confusions, IHH (İnsan Hak ve Hürriyetleri İnsani Yardım Vakfı) only operates in Turkey.
