Time is running out to have your say on the northern part of the Hertford Road Cycle Enfield project as the A1010 North consultation, which has been running for 12 weeks now, finishes on the 23 September.

The plans for the A1010 North are being funded through the Mayor of London’s multi-million pound Mini Holland programme, which provides an investment opportunity to help make a better Enfield by creating healthier streets for everyone.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Daniel Anderson, said: “We’re excited about the opportunities that Cycle Enfield offers to help improve this key road through the Eastern part of our borough. We want to enhance this environment for everyone, however they choose to travel. With this investment we can help to create safe and pleasant places to live, shop and do business.

“We are continuing to listen and respond to the issues that are raised throughout the extensive Cycle Enfield consultation process. To that end, I urge the people who live and work in this area of the borough to come along, look at the plans and tell us what they think.

“We are particularly keen to hear from local community groups and organisations and officers will happily meet with any such bodies as requested.”

Enfield Council has also produced a summary of the feedback from the A1010 South consultation held earlier in the year.

The Council is also taking more time to consider the Enfield Town and Southbury Road routes and is looking in depth at how best to respond to some of the issues that were raised in the consultation and revised plans will be brought forward later in the year.

Cycle Enfield will see £42m of external investment come into the borough. It will provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to transform our high streets and town centres, promote more active forms of travel, and create safe and secure cycle lanes, thereby facilitating a better Enfield for our residents, businesses and for those visiting.

The project has its own website at www.cycleenfield.co.uk Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CycleEnfield and Twitter @Cycleenfield where you can keep up with all the cycling activities Enfield already provides.
