After the Turkish General Consul Emirhan Yorulmazlar’s sudden leave message last week, many questions regarding the case were arisen.

Turkish Consulate of London, to clear the air, sent a press release to the attention of press on Mr Yorulmazlar’s case stating that he has been placed to a different position in Foreign Affairs Department of the Turkish Government. Stating that for a while, the position within the foreign affairs has been open, Mr Yorulmazlar was decided to take on the job whilst his replacement Fatih Topçu is on his way to London.

Having served as the Turkish General Consul for 2 years, Mr Yorulmazlar had shared this statement last week on the Turkish Consulate’s Facebook page:

“As completing my duty as the London’s General Consul for the Turkish Consulate, I am deeply proud and also emotional for being have to say goodbye to everyone. Ever sinceg I started my service as the general consul, I have been thriving to provide equal opportunities for every segment of our community. We have made many progresses as we opened our doors to everyone, by organising iftar events during Ramadans, hosting events and inviting our community here for them to have a voice at the Turkish Consulate. I will cherish every single good memories I had in London and am happy to be leaving London with good memories and good friends”.

As Londra Gazete, we wish Mr Yorulmazlar all the best in his prospects and would like to take this opportunity to thank him from the bottom of our hearts for his dedication over the past 2 years.
