A busy Tube station and the surrounding roads were placed on lockdown this morning as police investigated a suspect vehicle.

Scotland Yard confirmed officers investigated an abandoned vehicle outside the station and that the incident was stood down at about 9.30am. He told the Standard: “I arrived at Golders Green at about 8.15am. As I was leaving the station entrance, bus personnel ran over to the Tube staff to lock down and close the gates. There was a flurry of people on the last tube coming through.
“Everyone was ushered away in a mild but forceful manner from the Tube station and bus stops surrounding. At this point, at least five or six police cars swarmed the main road into Golders Green and made everyone go back. “For the next five minutes there was a lot of sirens and cars zooming past to the area of the tube station. They closed all the roads in the surrounding vicinity.”
