Barking&Dagenham’s deputy Mayor from England’s capital: London Saima Ashraf, visited Mayor Mustafa Bozbey.
The deputy Mayor of Barking&Dagenham Saima Ashraf visited the Mayor of Nilufer, Mustafa Bozbey to discuss the renewal of gentrification by sharing his ideas. Ashraf expressed his excitement about getting to visit Nilufer: “Nilufer is a beautiful place. I can see that your leadership is the reason for this. You give a strong impression that you also would like to renew and develop gentrification.
Ashraf expressed that he took on the role of becoming deputy Mayor and being responsible of the projects based around the renewal of city renewals in 2014 to Bozbey. Ashraf stated that Barking&Dagenham changes the fastest in London and that it is the place in which the renewal of city renewals takes place the most, “The current place in which we are located is the east of London. We are lucky when it comes to transportation. Before, this place used to be a landfill site; however in 2010 it started to change. To begin with, we built 35 thousand houses and currently, together with the Mayor of London, we are working on a new project that will produce 10 thousand new homes. We would like to compare the techniques used for the city renewal. We have a population of 210 thousand people and the value of land here is very low. Within our borough, there are many lands which have no use. Our goal is to become London’s greenest district.”
Bozbey also spoke about how those who govern Nilufer are involved in projects which are eco-friendly and people oriented. He also stated that Bura’s old name was ‘green Bursa’, “But with the increasing industrialisation, strict immigration came about, which unfortunately led to a grey Bursa. As the Mayor of Bursa, I would like to re-establish green Bursa once again.”
Bozbey reinforced the fact that Nilufer’s governors are in charge of issues concerning recycling in Turkey.
