AROUND 150 people attended a meal to mark the New Year organised by the Association of Turkish Women in the UK. Semra İleten, Naci Göçen and friends were among those who performed during the event at Efes 2 Restaurant.
The Association, which was established in 2002, has organised a number of events. It donates all of its income to education and health-based organisations and has raised more than £100,000.
Among those attending was the Turkish Cypriot consul to London, Mustafa Beyazbayram; Aysın Yılmaz, head of the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations; and London representative officers Müjde İnançoğlu and Tahir Osman Tahir.
