“Happily ever after” at the Day-Mer Children Festival

DSC_0575

Day-Mer Children Festival was joyful for the children, just as every year.

The Turkish-Kurdish solidarity Centre, Day-Mer’s traditionalised festival took place on Holmleigh Primary School’s outdoors garden on the 19th of June. Whilst the kids were having their ultimate fun through various options to speak their creativity out, some parents took their time off by waiting their kids outside.

In its 12th anniversary, the festival comprised many inter and multi-disciplinary events such as ceramic painting, face painting, balloon games, muppet shows, shadow muppet Show, children got to learn how to create their own muppets alongside watching plays with bursting laughters. One of the most colourful and joyful events at the festival, was when the children learned how to pain the festival invitation cards on their own.

Towards the end, whilst Day-Mer traditional and folk dance branches and Women’s Commission’s dance performances flavoured the joy, those who were hungry enjoyed the hand-made foods.
