After his election the Mayor of Harringay Ali Gul Ozbek paid a visit to the Turkish and related charities.
The Turkish mayor, whose origins rely South-east Turkey, made his first visit to the Alevi Culture Centre and the Djemevi. Whilst meeting with charity representatives, Mr Ozbek received such positive feedback and welcoming by the charity hosts. In his speech, Ozbek said “I am here thanks to my cultural and ethnical origins, I couldn’t be prouder to be your Mayor”.
Many Turkish and Turkish speaking community members were also present to congratulate Ozbek’s fresh promotion. Later on, Ozbek visited KOMKAR, Kurdish Advice Centre by also meeting with Rights and Freedom Party General Vice President Necati Bayram. Mr Ozbek, also stated that he shall be contributing to the preparation of KOMKAR Women’s commission enterprises.
