ATHPA Conference tackled human health in London

Anglo-Turkish Health Professionals Association (ATHPA) gathered many inter-disciplinary health specialists together to dedicate a full day to tackle human health. From distinguished doctors, the conference accommodated topics in panic attack, anxiety, pregnancy, ache information, depression and neurology.

On the 21st of May, many distinguished health specialists led an interactive series of conferences in their specialties, which caused a big interest amongst the guests. Psychiatrist Dr. Yenal Dundar, in his opening speech tackled how anxiety and depression have become a major part of our lives – almost acknowledging that anxiety is an inevitable consequence of our everyday lives. When tackling anxiety, some of the guests also shared their own experiences by saying their anxieties are very often for them to experience. Dr. Dundar suggested mindful thinking and psychotherapy, and stated medical drug use should only be the last choice for such cases.

Dr. Zehra Yılmaz, from King’s College London then led the discussion towards “body aches” by differentiating the difference between biological pains and emotional pains by also stating that emotional aches could lead to massive biological pain collapses, in such cases a true and accurate treatment must be exercises.

Following the discussions Dr. Pınar Uysal-Onganer tackled cancer types and the commonness of it by giving relevant examples and talking to the guests in person. Dr. Berrin Tezcan, on the other hand answered guests’ questions on pregnancy and obesity in person.
