Traffic chaos hit Enfield at the weekend after two accidents on one of the borough’s busiest roads.

At 6.53pm on Sunday, May 8, Enfield Police tweeted that the A10 Great Cambridge Road had been closed northbound from Bury Street after a serious collision between a car and a pedestrian.

Minutes later, another tweet said there were severe delays southbound after an incident involving a car and a motorbike near Carterhatch Lane.

The northbound route eventually reopened at around 8.30pm, with the southbound road following soon after.

Demi Petrides wrote on Facebook: “Not blaming the motorbikes but they are always speeding down the A10 so as much as car drivers are asked to be aware of motorbikes they also need to take care.

“No one wants anyone to get hurt so maybe just a bit of less speed and more care could reduce the number of accidents that occur.”

There have been no reports of any arrests or updates on any injuries.
