Islamic Hijri calender is defined in accordance with turning of moon around the world. Because of these calender accounts, Prophet’s birthday comes on different days in the Gregorian Calender.
Leaders of the country, do organize a variety of colorful activities for Holy Birth week all over the country.
With a high participation, Turkish Religious Foundation of the UK and many more religious centres in London organised a special meeting for celebrating the Holy Birth week, on the 17th of April Sunday. With the slogan “Let’s collaborate to enrich humanity”, the event took place at the Darur Rahman Hall in Edmonton. All speakers mentioned the hard times that the Islam world is going through and sent peace messages out.
Amongst the speakers, were Turkish Republic’s London Ambassador Abdurrahman Bilgiç and Turkish Religious Affairs President Deputy. The event started off with the Turkish national anthem and carried on with Mustafa Güllü’s strong presentation. Prayer reader İsmail Ergin also read a passage from Kur’an-ı Kerim.
Mahmur Özdemir, highlighted the significance of the day by saying “As known for 30 years, like everywhere else in the world where celebrates holy birth weeks, we celebrate it too during these days of April. This year is special as its theme is “accepting the holy God’s existence”, and it stands for being an ultimate belief for us believers. God is where we find solutions, remedies and salvation. We never will let those of people who are intending to misrepresent Islam.”
MR BİLGİÇ: WE WANT PEACE AND FREEDOM
Ambassador Mr Bilgiç often gave freedom and peace messages out in his speech. “As a religion which centres freedom, compassion and peace it is saddening to see a hateful tendency to misrepresent Islam by conflictions. Without a doubt, these are made by anti-Islamists, we must be careful by remembering the true nature of Islam.”
The event carried on with children choirs and food fairs.
