Orientalist and Middle East Week at the Sotheby’s

 This Sotheby’s will accommodate 1000 year old artworks that are delicately selected from Middle East and Oriental artworks from the globe. The event will take place as an auction and will be in 5 sections. The auction will accommodate many valuable items starting from Islam World artworks to anonymous Iranian-French collector and many more artists, designers and curators. At the auction, Mohamed and Margaret Makiya’s libraries will be for sale.

At auction, there will be many items from the Middle East including Ottoman Empire artworks, involving handmade artworks and Islamic ancient manuscripts. Among the leading items from the auction, is the magnificent Ottoman clerk box which is a very valuable souvenir from the 16th century Ottoman artworks.

The event will be held inside the Sotheby’s New Bond Street based gallery between 15th – 19th April following the auction that starts on the 20th of April 2016.
