Armenian-Turkish relations, developments and current issues

turk dernekleri federasyonuThe critical relation between Armenia and Turkey will be discussed in an event organized by Federation of Turkish Associations UK.  The first part of the evening will be devoted to a newly translated, early 20th century book by Pierre Loti. By the moderation of Dr. Mustafa Atac, Dr Onur Oymen and Dr. Ismail Pamuk will be discussing the historical relevance of Pierre Loti’s book to the subject at hand. The discussion about the book will be followed by Dr. Pamuk’s discussion about recent legal judgments from Europe and their relevance for the relations between the two country. Attendance will be free but with registration only.

Event will take place at King’s College London on Monday, 18th Aptil at 7pm.

About the speakers:

Dr Onur Oymen was graduated from Ankara University with his Ph.D. thesis Technological Development and Defence Policies. He served as a counsellor in Turkish Embassy  and an ambassador himself in many countries.

Dr. Ismail Pamuk was born in Canakkale.  After his education in Ankara University and Marmara University on Law and Political Social Sciences, he served as a legal advisor to Nato.
