Day-Mer published a statement about the upcoming bayram, Newroz. In the message they underlined the importance of peace, freedom and brotherhood among cultures. The statement is as follows:
“It’s unfortunate that we are forced to celebrate this day of tranquillity and peace with news of death and war. Diyarbakır, Cizre, Yüksekova regions are no different from Syria. Demolitions, tears and a siege; the destruction of these areas is a direct result of the discontinuity in the peace processes. Erdogan and AKP express over and over again how proud they are to retain their firm stance .However it Id the same manner that caused the misfortunes still shadowing South-Eastern areas. They curse those who oppose them, however it is a big mistake to overlook an obvious fact: the equality and self-determination right of Kurdish people.
Peace will prevail
“There are still challenging opinions against the governmental actions.Academics, members of non-governmental organizations announced their reluctance to support these actions. In fact, there is a great disapproval among the citizens against the orthodox view. The Kurdish people are not alone. Let us resonate this call for peace in England as well. Silence is the greatest sin in the times of injustice. Let us say “no” to dictatorship, and the annihilation of Kurdish values. NEWROZ PÎROZ BÊ!”
