Elif Safak
Elif Safak will be the juror to decide the winner for Baileys Prize this year. Baileys Prizes are awarded to prominent literary women, who show great ability and narrative in their stories. This years list for nominees are announced which included the works of Kate Atkinson and Anne Enright.
A prestigious prize
In his talk after the announcement of the nominees Juror, Elif Safak commented on the list. She expressed her excitement about the number of novels which are the first written works of individuals. The committee has reviewed more than 170 novels with the aim of deciding the winner. Elif Safak underlined the importance of bringing out the important message, equality in gender, which is endorsed and promoted thanks to organisations as such. In her talk, she stated their indifference towards different races and cultures as a committee.
