Inspired by Istanbul and Barcelona

“Mother Nature” is formed of 21 pieces and explains that her inspiration while preparing the pieces and her art work comes from the city of Istanbul, where she was born and Barcelona, the city she lives in.

Duchess of Cambridge to receive gift

Katalan also explained that as a gift for International Women’s Day she would give one of her paintings to the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton via the London Ambassador for Turkey.

Who is Terry Katalan?

Born in Istanbul in the year 1965 into a Sephardic family and after having lived many years in Barcelona, she is currently living in London. She has a cosmopolitan disposition and she is greatly inspired by Turkey and Turkish culture, in which she was born and raised.

In her paintings, the artist aims to portray a timeless concept of nature through the use of materials derived directly from nature. This technique is created through a mixture of oil painting and dry flowers with the intention of making her artwork as dynamic as life itself and to capture the universal colours of nature. Terry Katalan is a member of the Fédération Internationale Culturelle Féminine (FICF). Her art works have been published in the prestigious Catalan art book of ‘Artistas para el Museo de Mañana’ and many other Spanish art magazines.
