TURKISH SCHOOL STUDENTS have competed in a general knowledge competition “Ali Rıza Değirmencioğlu” where 18 schools with the same name participated.
Guests included TRNC London Representative Consuls Esra Emin, Ülkü Alemdar, partner Şakir Alemdar, Head of Education Consortium Kelami Dedezade, the late Ali Rıza Değirmencioğlu’s wife Pelin Değirmencioğlu, London Ambassador Education Counselling Co-Ordinator Teacher for Turkey Elif Oytun, TRNC London Education and Culture Defence Co-Ordinator Teacher Derya Beyit and the schools family association director along with families of students.
Teachers from various schools who took part in the jury panel for the competition included: Esra Güler, Nuray Aru and Songül Tavil, those who were on-duty teachers were Canan Avcı, İbrahim Akkuç, Ersin Tünay, Fatoş Tünay and Akif Karakoç.
FATIH TURKISH SCHOOL COMES FIRST
Fatih Turkish School came first in the competition with a total of 230 points, they had come head-head with Ali Rıza Değirmencioğlu Turkish School and Faith Turkish School answered the tie-breaker question correctly. Students who represented the school were Ramazan Poyraz, Enes Malik Diyenli and Serkan Tekcan.

Schools who applied totalled to 20, yet only 18 competed they were: Ali Rıza Değirmencioğlu Turkish School, Aziziye Weekend School, Bickley Turkish Family Association, Bristol Religious Turkish School, Coventry Education and Culture Centre, Relgious Charity Turkish School, Edmonton Honour Turkish School, Fatih Turkish School, Grange Park Turkish School, Luton Weekend Turkish School, Manchester Selimiye Turkish Okulu, Nottingham Turkish School, Southgate Turkish Schoool, Stoke-on Trent gnosticism Boys Turkish School, Süleymaniye Ilford Turkish School, Valide Sultan Turkish School, Waltham Forest Turkish School and Wimbledon Turkish School.
