Sheffield Alevi Culture Centre and Cemevi now open

 

SAKM (Shefield Alevi Cultural centre) has, in a very short period of time, has established its centre with an opening event, attended by many.

A sister organisation of the Britain Alevi Federation, SAKD and Cemevi opening drew 500 people; opening speeches were made by SAKM and Cemevi Vice-presidents, Ismail Aslan and Eylem Ishubukcu.

“We are trying to take responsibility for our future, and struggling to secure a decent one,” said Eylem Ishubukcu.

“People from in and around Sheffield are welcome. We hope, with excitement, that our future events – Semahs, dances and other forms of worship – will draw many in; I thank all people”.

Notable names who attended the event: BAF president Israfil Erbil; Mehmet Yuksel Dede, Hüseyin Gazi Metin Dede; Bornemouth Akm and Cemevi director, Elif Temel; Doncaster AKM and Cemevi Vice-president, Gulay Dalkilic; Edinburgh AKM and Cemevi President, Zekeriya Armut; Hull AKM and Cemevi President Baska Ali ekber tepe, and many others from different parts of Britain.

Semah and Deyis were among some of the performances.; Musicians Tara Jaf, Ozlem Taner and Erol Parlak were among the performers.

A thank-you plate was given to all artists after the event, bringing an end to it.
