Archola’s play for Refugees

DSC00126

Arcola theatre, London, Dalston, to donate part of the profits from ‘The Children of Hercules’ play, 2400-year-old Greek master-piece, under the theatre’s project ‘Creative Engagement’, organised with the partnership of ‘Ala Turka’

The particular choice of play comes after the horrendous news that keeps flowing from the refugee ‘crisis’ – according to the project organisers, Ece Oz and Mge Cetinkaya; in the play, the ‘Hercules children’ travel from door to door looking for a sanctuary.

“Maybe the play will not change the circumstance of refugees but we hope that it will raise awareness,” said Ece Oz

Muge Cetinkaya, an actress taking part in the play said a group of Turkish speaking actors/actresses is growing, having influence on and off the stage.

Arcola Theatre Address: 24 Ashwin Street Dalston, London, E8 3DL. Dates of the play: 2-3-4-5th March, 2016. A percentage of profit will be handed over to Save the Children and Child Refugee Crisis Appeal. Tickets cost £10, which can be brought either via website www.arcolatheatre.com or by phone on 02075031646.
