Learn to Cook for free: Hackney

The Charity organisation, Bags of Taste, is offering low-income families free courses in the kitchen.

To lower the ever increasing food prices, the charity has decided to offer free courses to get families to cook at home on a low-budget; some dishes cost no more than £1, from different cuisines.

Dishes are taught (among them: Swedish meatballs, Fajitas and curry fish) and then students are given the time to practice their cooking.

Students may buy ingredients they use during the class at the end of the session to cook the foods they have just learned.

This course was designed to tackle unhealthy diets among people with low-income, which has become something of an epidemic in certain deprived areas.

Spokesperson from Bags of Taste said that low-income families ate very badly; but not a lot of money is needed to eat healthy.
