London’s textile fair sees increase in Turkish Companies

The London Textile Fair, an every 6 month affair, located in Angel, was punctuated with more Turkish companies than usual.

According to the business design centre located in Angel, 82 out of 350 firms were of Turkish origin during the fair on the 13th and 14th of January 2016.

Forty-two of the Turkish companies were part of a the Istanbul Textile and Raw Material Association (ITMA) (Istanbul tekstil ve Hammadeleri Birligi), who attended as a group; the other 40 companies attended with their own accord.

Secretary of ITMA, Mehmet Fatih Bilinc, sang of his joy of having more Turkish companies in the fair’s attendance:

“There are 350 companies currently active in the fair, 82 of those are Turkish, 42 of those are attended jointly in the ITMA. The British Textile industry is one of the biggest in Europe. Our aim is to come here – and encourage other to attend – and build vital links, contacts, and maintain a good relationship with clients and potential business partners.

Turkey’s London Business Adversary S. Aytug Goksu pointed to the importance of England’s market for Turkish textiles: “The great thing about this fair is, you can join very easily and is very busy. We, the Business accountancy, always visit Turkish businesses to show that we support them.”
