The group organised by Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) travelled for a day’s trip to the the Camp in calais on December 2nd 2016. Volunteers from UETD’s youth organisation delivered all essentials donated by the London Turkish community, which  included clothes, medicine and food.

The Jungle camp, located only a few miles away from the Euro-tunnel, is now home to 6,000 of the reported One million refugees estimated to bon European soil. The volunteers expressed their emotions toward the human state of the camp. “surrounded by barbed wire, it is a tent camp located in a corner of the world that nobody can see,” said an emotional volunteer.

UETD’s new president and Lib Dem candidate for MP of Tottenham Dr. Turhan Ozen said that in 2016 UETD will organising projects for the refugees, helped with the experience gained in camp Jungle, vowing to be of more help to the refugees of the terrible humanitarian crisis.
