Teachers Day Celebrated at Sofra

SEVERAL TEACHERS HAVE attended a teacher’s day celebration breakfast at one of London’s top Turkish restaurants, Hüseyin Özer’s Sofra resturant with education councilor Necip Demirci and Ambassador Secretary Türker Yılmaz .

The breakfast was hosted by the chef and restaurant owner Hüseyin Özer himself, as he offered guests a variety of complimentary dishes he said: “The most important people to me are teachers and students.”

He continued by saying: “I was never caned by a teacher, but because of unfortunateness I didn’t have the opportunity to go to school. Young people must go to school and persevere in education.”

Despite not going to primary school, Özer was awarded an Honor doctorate from the University of Westminster and Middlesex University rector is “the first established university in the world” for Sofra Restaurant.

Özer also explained that as a restaurant he and the staff at Sofra restaurant work very hard to represent Turkey. He also answered questions from the teachers who attended the breakfast and added that he would like Turkish restaurants to become more widespread across the world. Addressing the teachers he said: “Support me , let us educate more students.” “We praise foods of the Turkish cuisine but we are not making the dishes in our restaurants.” he asked the teachers to also touch on this subject as well.

At the end of the breakfast, Nazik Demirci spoke on behalf of all the teachers and thanked Mr Özer for the thoughtful breakfast and Türker Yılmaz for joining them in attending the breakfast.
