A MAN FROM EDMONTON has been arrested for committing domestic violence at a restaurant in the same area on Sunday 11 October just before 10pm.

The man was located shortly after he attacked his partner. Enfield Council’s CCTV team saw him and is partner on camera footage in Fore Street, Lower Edmonton and directed police to their location where he was then arrested.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Organisations & Culture, Cllr Yasemin Brett, said: “Domestic violence has no place in a civilised society and I’m delighted we’ve been able to play a part in tackling this despicable crime which often takes place behind closed doors.

She added:  “I’d urge anyone who is a victim of domestic violence to seek help, it is a terrible debilitating and harrowing crime which strips its victims of their dignity and self respect, but assistance in escaping from an abusive relationship is available.”

If people require help escaping from domestic violence they should contact the National Domestic Violence Helpline on 0808 2000 247 or the Solace Women’s Aid Advice Line on 0808 802 5565.
