Demirtaş Speaks in London: “We aren’t dividers, the dividers are AKP”

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE have attended a talk by HDP (Public Democratic Party) General Party Leader Selahattin Demirtaş, in North London at the Dominion Centre in Wood Green, on Sunday 18 October, 2015.

Demirtaş criticised the AKP government in Turkey and the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The thousands of people were seen queuing from hours before outside, to enter the hall where Selahattin Demirtaş would be giving his talk.

“HE’S DIVIDED THE COUNTRY BECAUSE OF THE VOTERS AND NON VOTERS”

He began by criticising the AKP government and blaming them for splitting up the country. Demirtaş said: “Believe me, the language they use and the politics they carry has now brought Turkey to a state which has been divided area by area. I’m not saying city by city, I’m saying area by area. He has split Turkey into the voters for AKP and the non-voters.”

Speaking of the horrific terror attack in Ankara, he wholly blamed the government and said: “A terror group like ISIS, can be humanity’s and Islam’s worst nightmare and then comfortably carry out a killing, but you cannot make any criticisms against the government..”

“THEY ARE LEADING LIARS”
In another forefront topic during his speech, HDP Party Leader called Erdoğan and Davutoğlu liars by saying: “They are saying we are all going to be equal. We are going to be united. That’s the biggest lie. They are leading liars. Professional liars, professional. The other one (Davutoğlu) has only just began lying. He’s still on work experience, just started but the big one (Erdoğan) is a professional liar. The other can’t really lie. He’s still new. He’s supposedly learned next to his boss but hasn’t learned fully yet. He lies but it’s written all over his face, he turns red when he lies. Erdoğan is professional. He tells 10 lies in a row. You don’t even feel it.”

“KURDS AREN’T ENEMIES WITH TURKS, THEY CAN’T BE”

Selahattin Demirtaş, underlined the importance of being united ahead of the early general election on 1 November and said: “They will continue killing every day. The will continue shedding blood, wherever they have power. Kurds are not enemies with Turks. They can’t be. We won’t allow this. We have a problem with the way the parliament is trying to lead. Let’s go hand in hand and fix it.”

He finished by saying: “We feel that a new period for the guns to be put down should be started again. The new period should not take place behind closed door but in a law frame that is clear and parliament being the centre of it.”
