Turkish Woman Charged after ‘Racist’ tweet

A TURKISH WOMAN is set to appear in a Bromley court, on Thursday 5 November 2015, after she was charged for posting racist and threatening tweets on social media network, Twitter.

Bahar Mustafa, 28, who is a Welfare and Diversity officer at an Independent Students Union for Goldsmiths University, was arrested and charged after she posted a tweet saying “#killallwhitemen” and in another she told White people could not attend an event and they were not ‘wanted’.

The 28-year-old who is originally from Edmonton, North London, will face two charges. One for sending a communication conveying a threatening message between 10 November 2014 and 31 May 2015. The other is for sending a grossly offensive message via a public communication network between 10 November 2014 and 31 May 2015.

In a statement from Goldsmiths University, it read: “She is not one of our students nor is she an employee at the university, we are against any segregation or racism, nor do we tolerate it.”

She has also been tweeted several times with the most popular hash-tag being #baharmustafa and #killallwhitemen, one tweet said: 7 oct 2015 “it’s a real shame that we’re even discussing #BaharMustafa. she’s a terrible person. no one should be prosecuted for an opinion though.”

And another said: “I think #BaharMustafa deserves to be charged so she & SJW mouthbreathers can be learn that ‘hate speech’ laws can be used against THEM too.”

Bahar Mustafa will appear at Bromley Magistrates Court on Thursday 5th November 2015, facing two separate charges.
