Murder in Hackney

A TWENTY FIVE-YEAR OLD has been murdered in the Homerton area of Hackney, East London in the early hours of last Saturday morning.

The victim who is yet to be identified was pronounced dead by paramedics after being shot next to the butchers on 2 Chatsworth Road at 1.15am last Saturday 26 September 2015.

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard said: “Police officers were called to the scene after a person was reported wounded, yet despite efforts of the ambulance team and paramedics the victim was shortly later pronounced dead.”

Is it a gang war?

According to the Evening Standard, residents of the area feel that it could be in relation with a gang war.  One shopkeeper who works at a nearby beauty salon said: “They’re thinking it’s gang-related- I’m not from the area but they say there’s a lot of it.”

She continued: “It’s shocking- I’ve never been so scared in my life. I was really, really scared.”

A restaurant worker who also spoke to the Evening Standard said: “We heard what we thought was a cap gun. It was a pretty loud bang.”

A suspect aged 20 has been arrested on suspicion and he is currently being held a local police station in East London.
