London Ambassador Oya Tuncali’s Eid Message

Oya Tuncalı

Dearest members of the UK’s Turkish Cypriot Community, my brothers and sisters, once again I am experiencing the excitement and joy of sharing another Kurban Bayram (Greater Eid), with yourselves. Firstly I would like to wish the Turkish Nation and Islamic world a benevolent Eid.

Each Eid (Bayram) we spend away from our motherland, the togetherness of our community and cultural values continuing to be protected holds a distinct importance.

The most important matter in this, is to protect our national and moral values, and comply as best as we can to the circumstances of the country we live in.

It is important that our own national citizens living abroad, do not lose their own identities, cohabit with the citizens of the country they are living in harmony and it is very important they present their culture values as richness to the community while contributing to all aspects of life.

As the London Ambassador Representative for North Cyprus, I would like you to know just how hard we are working to help you stay connected to your ties, values and your economic, political and community life. The successes you display grow each day and you are too growing stronger.

With these thoughts, I send my heartfelt wishes to all in having a Happy Kurban Bayram (Greater Eid) and wish that this Eid will help reinforce togetherness, tolerance and friendship to our nation, the Islamic World and all humanity.
