HACKNEY FIREWORKS display is set to return once again this year, after a massive success last year. The display will be held at Clissold Park in Stoke Newington on Saturday 7 November, to
celebrate bonfire night with a spectacular show of colour.
Tickets are now on sale- and residents have been asked to think of ideas for this year’s musical theme.
Cllr Jonathan McShane, Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care and Culture, said: “After the success of last year’s wonderful show we have decided to once again hold what is fast-becoming one of the highlights of the borough’s social calendar.”
This years event is set to have a children’s fun fair, street performers and food and drink stalls along with other entertainment, as the fireworks the 2015 pyromusical are to be synchronised to music.
The Council is inviting local residents to suggest music tracks and themes to help design the display. Last year’s was ‘fire and ice’.
He added: “This year we’re asking residents to get directly involved in the show and decide the theme and what tracks they’d like to hear the fireworks set to. For those entering the ticket giveaways, I wish them the best of luck.”
Tickets are priced at £7.50 for adults and £2.50 for children who live in the borough; and £8.50 and £3.50 for non-residents.
There is a giveaway of 300 free tickets by the council through two concessionary offers – 100 pairs can be won by Hackney residents, and 100 can be applied for by Hackney-based registered charities.
Gates open at 6pm and the display starts at 7.30pm. The display is 20 minutes and is suitable for all ages. Entertainment will be weather-dependant.
The fireworks show returned to the borough last year after an absence of almost a decade.
