Charity Event Held for Syrian Immigrants

 

A CHARITY Event was held in London for the Syrian immigrants fleeing Reyhanli, Hatay to several parts of Turkey as the war in their country continues.

Support group Watanili and the charity event Souq for Syria joined each other to organise the event and raise money for Syrian children immigrating.

The event held in Shoreditch, London on Sunday (      ) saw performances by Iraqi Jazz Musician Alya Marquardt with several important guests attending. Alya Marquardt gave live performances. There were also Syrian and Arabic food and drink, handmade woven and knitting pieces and photography together with Calligraphy was also available to buy.

It was a busy day, an event filled with entertainment and plenty of purchases to help raise money for the children, beginning at 11:00 and lasting till 16:00.

The civil war in Syria began almost five years ago and has affected mostly children. Watinili aims to rebuild the more secure and safe areas in Syria, the want life to go back to normal as possible. They have held various Arts and Crafts events, each one unique and are attracting attention in England with their difference and creativity.

According to official figures Turkey has re-homed nearly 2 million Syrian immigrants and Watinili is to send all money raised at the event to the Syrian Children in Reyhanli.
