Jail for Stratford tube pervert

Zeynel Uclay

A Hackney man has been jailed for three months after he was caught filming up women’s skirts at Stratford London Underground station.

Zeynel Uclay, 46, of Morning Lane in Hackney, was seen bending down to position his phone under the skirts of two teenage girls at Stratford station in August last year.

It came after a similar incident involving a woman at the Westfield shopping centre in June 2014.

At a trial Thames Magistrates’ Court, heard the woman felt something touching her thigh, and turned to see Uclay standing directly behind her

When she confronted him, he walked past her and she noticed he was holding a phone with the video function enabled.

Uclay was arrested after being caught filming the teenage girls on 11 August 2014.

After being found guilty Uclay was sentenced to three months for each offence, to be served concurrently.

He was also ordered to pay £620 costs, an £80 victim surcharge and was given a criminal behaviour order forbidding him from carrying any device capable of capturing images or film in public for two years.

Speaking after sentencing, Detective Constable Gareth Jones said: “Unwanted sexual behaviour will not be tolerated anywhere on the rail network.

“We are working hard with our partners at TfL on our ‘Report it to Stop it’ campaign which encourages people to report incidents such as this via our 61016 text number.

“We take every report seriously, and will pursue offenders to ensure they are brought before the courts.

“I am pleased to see that Uclay has been brought to account for his actions.”

We take all reports of unwanted sexual behaviour extremely seriously and do all we can to prevent these kind of incidents happening to others.”
