A North London Turkish School has started a petition of its own to prevent Turkish exams from being abolished.
The Ali Rıza Değirmencioğlu Turkish School launched its campaign with an event at Kervan Hall in Edmonton.
School director Sevtap Kemal said: “Turkish exams are indispensable for Turkish children living in this country, as important as Turkish language and culture schools.
“Our schools exist to help our children who are preparing for these exams. If the OCR implements its decision, this will also mean the closure of Turkish schools as well.
“That is why I am calling on all families to support our petition an campaign.”
