TRNC Prime Minister to Visit London for Official Engagements

The Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ünal Üstel, is scheduled to visit London from January 23–25 to engage in official meetings and connect with the Turkish Cypriot diaspora in the UK.

Reception on January 23

On the evening of January 23, at 7:00 PM, Prime Minister Üstel will attend a reception organized by Euromed, Londra Gazete, Alton & Co, Ukay Catering, and Best Motors. The event will bring together Turkish Cypriot civil society organizations, representatives of Turkish schools, businesspeople, and young professionals from London. This gathering aims to strengthen ties within the diaspora and facilitate dialogue.

Tree Planting Ceremony in Memory of “Champion Angels”

On January 25, Saturday, at 1:00 PM, the Prime Minister will participate in a tree-planting ceremony at North London’s Trent Park. The event is dedicated to the memory of the “Champion Angels,” children who tragically lost their lives in Adıyaman during the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquake. This poignant event will commemorate their lives through a meaningful act of remembrance.

Broader Engagements

During his visit, Prime Minister Üstel is expected to hold discussions with various segments of the diaspora and work toward strengthening relationships between the UK and the TRNC.

This visit underscores the commitment to bolstering ties with the Turkish Cypriot community in the UK and fostering a spirit of solidarity and cooperation.
