The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Deputy Prime Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, alongside the tourism sector, participated in the “World Travel Market” (WTM) 2024 exhibition held in London, UK, from November 5-7, 2024. TRNC continued its promotional activities at one of the world’s major tourism events, showcasing its beautiful landmarks.
The WTM 2024, which opened on Tuesday (November 5) in the UK capital, featured a magnificent TRNC stand. The 3 day exhibition offers a chance for tourism professionals, investors, and international partners to engage in cooperation and discussions.
Ataoğlu, attended the event and met with tourism sector representatives. Accompanied by TRNC’s London Representative Çimen Keskin, TRNC Director of the Tourism Promotion and Marketing Department Mine Emiroğlu, and TRNC London Duty Deputy Esma Eroğlu.
During the event, the Deputy Minister of Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Nadir Alparslan, and his delegation also visited the North Cyprus stand, where they held a brief meeting with Ataoğlu.
In a statement, Ataoğlu highlighted that various promotions were carried out to elevate Northern Cyprus’s status in the UK market. Ataoğlu emphasized the importance of the UK as a key market and pointed out that British tourists have a significant role in the country’s tourism.
Stating that the WTM was an ideal platform to increase the number of tourists from the UK and promote the beauty of Northern Cyprus to a wider audience. He also shared that they are continuing to develop the country’s tourism infrastructure and using digital marketing tools to reach global audiences.
Ataoğlu also discussed how the TRNC promotion film, produced in collaboration with Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is being broadcasted on British television networks and news websites. He expressed optimism about the impact of these efforts and is anticipating positive results from them.
Every year a number of companies from Turkey, Northern Cyprus and their official tourism boards, as well UK based businesses that provide travel services to the countries attended the expo with growing interest each year.
